Below I share 9 photographs showing epiphytic plants photographed by me in Seattle. Epiphytes grow wild on trees, cliffs or on roofs. Clever gardeners have learned that some plants can be cultivated most successfully --if not only-- if they are suspended from a wall, or in a hanging basket, or the like. Certain species that often freeze to death or rot if planted in the ground, overwinter easily in Seattle if on a rockery. Examples include Lewisia and Sedum suaveolens.
